www.entertainment.ie usually lists most gigs happening in Dublin and other good venues around the country. the Dublin Fringe Festival - www.fringefest.com
Blood On The Wall (myspace.com/bloodonthewall) and Cap Pas Cap (myspace.com/cappascap) are playing in the Sugar Club on Wednesday the 20th
also on Wednesday is the Antics indie night in Crawdaddy (myspace.com/antics_crawdaddy)
on Thursday there is a club on in the Hub called Pandamonium which plays lots of good music
on Friday there is a charity gig on in Whelans starring the Coldspoon Conspiracy (myspace.com/thecoldspoonconspiracy)

Dublin pubs - The Oak...indierock downstairs on Friday and Saturday night from 10pm (Dame Street), The International (Wicklow Street), Anseo (Cambden Street...i think), Whelans (Wexford Street), The Foggy Dew (Temple Bar), Doyles (near Trinity College, indierock on weekend nights)

if you're in Galway at all The Roisin Dubh (www.roisindubh.net) is a great pub and music venue.

i hope this is of some help. if you've anymore questions i'll do my best to answer.

wow, thank you soo much for this!!
i think this is already more than i can check out.. ;)

well, maybe you also know some good (cheap?) record stores or second hand/alternative clothing shops?

Road Records (www.roadrecs.com) is on Fade Street which is located just off Georges Street. it's one of the best and most popular indie stores.
City Discs is in Temple Bar near the Temple Bar Music Centre. they always have a great collection of secondhand cds and records.
Tower Records on Wicklow Street is probably the best record store. they always have loads of good cds on sale . there's also a smaller Tower Records on O' Connell Street (above Easons newsagents).
i'm not too sure about clothing shops. try the Georges Street arcade. there are also a few alternative shops in and around Temple Bar. it's a small area so they shouldn't be too hard to find.

hey Freda :)

in addition to what iambrazil said (which is all excellent) - I'd recommend sé/sí and Eager Beaver in Temple Bar for alternative/secondhand/handmade type clothes, and RedEye (also in Temple Bar) for tshirts, they're really cool. and I'd check out Freebird Records and the Secret Bookshop as well (a couple of doors down from Tower as you're heading away from Grafton St).

as for gigs I can recommend - Peter Doran in the Sugar Club on the 21st should be good, and Autamata and Roesy in the Spiegeltent on the 20th.

are you going anywhere else in Ireland? hope you have a great time!

great, thank you!
and by the way, your friends-only image and the frames rule! :)

well, i'll travel as "female accompanying person" with the class of my former english teacher and don't really know yet what we are going to do exactly. ;) but i've been told about a trip to Gledalough and one to Cork.
