So. Excuse the potential creepiness of the question, and any spelling errors due to drunkenness.

I'm all the way over in Perth, Western Australia and I've decided to make my life's work to get to this year's Oxegen because it seems to be my dream lineup.

Since I'm actually traversing the entire globe to get to the festival, I feel like treating myself to luxuary and a fandom awesomeness. Does anyone know where the bands from the tour stay? to maximise my "oh gosh, I bumped into you at breakfast, sign this memorabilia" factor?

I just figure if I shell out $AUD400 for a festival with all my favourite bands, I should totally max it out. :P

whoops, there goes another yeariambrazil on February 23rd, 2007 06:21 pm (UTC)
there'll probably a few at The Morrisson (http://www.morrisonhotel.ie)
No matter how great the lineup for Oxegen the atmosphere at the festival has being going downhill for the last few years. Last years festival was an alltime low with some awful stories coming out after the event about the campsite. The security guards are notorious scumbags too. I'm sure most people would advise you to head to a similar festival in mainland Europe or even T in the Park in Scotland which has almost the exact same lineup as Oxegen. Hope you have fun anyway no matter where you end up.

sorry if i've scared you or anything. the festival is usually ok as long as you're not camping.

Oh no, it's good for someone to be the voice of reason :P
I'm pretty much a worrier at the best of times unless my fangirling gets away from me and I was sitting here tonight thinking "...are there maybe safety aspects I am stoically ignoring mayhap?"

But T in the Park looks pretty awesome too, I used to live in Scotland and I've never been back (I moved like 10 years ago) so I'm kind of weighing up between Scotland and Muse/Fall Out Boy. Bahhh.

But thanks for the scoop, it's definitely something to think about/stop ignoring...

Have you been/are you going this year, btw? :)

i went every year from 2001 until 2005. skipped last year because there weren't any bands i wanted to see. i'll probably be going to one day at least. i don't really care as long as i get tickets for glastonbury though.

Ummm I went last year, I was 16 and I camped with my friends who are all my age and it was nothing like the stories led people to believe.
